should i detox before going raw vegan?

March 11, 2010 - 12:18 pm 6 Comments

so i amturning raw vegan and how sould i detox? also what should i eat on an average day? meal plan please! thanks!

The diet itself will be a detox, but you can do an additional detox if you want to. Be prepared to feel pretty bad for a week or more! Check out this site to learn more about exactly what a raw vegan might eat for days on end: http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2007/12/30-days-raw/ It is basically 30+ days of a personal experiment in raw veganism. The guy that runs the site is now 100% raw vegan though for awhile I think he went to 90//10. Good luck and I hope this site helps.

Raw vegan Detoxing symptoms?

January 18, 2010 - 10:52 pm 4 Comments

I have been a vegetarian for 4 years, just became raw vegan 5 days ago. Feels great, but tonight i feel so tired, i dont know why i just feel like i need to sleep, and earlier i was nasaues, im guessing im detoxing? but is this common to feel tired, and when will this go away, i am on a 100% raw diet, im feeling a bit discouraged. I see all these ‘good’ foods around. but they aren’t good for the body but they taste so good, and im fighting these cravings. someone help me ! loland yesterday i made nori rolls and they were gross :(
sigh,. how do i get protein?? and ive been fasting for my religion so i only eat once, but i try to eat alot, but i get full

Thats bad :( you probably need protien. make sure you are getting enough or you will get really sick! you have the symtoms of the begginings of a protien defficiancy…you should be eating your body wieght divided by 2.2 then mulitplied by 0.8….at least that much. more if your under stress!
detoxing symptoms are usually lots of sweating, rapid hair and nail growth, and pooping a lot more then usuall….and having MORE energy not less!

be careful and good luck with your new diet! :)

RAW FOOD MEXICAN! RAW VEGAN “CHIPS” + FRESH SALSA RECIPE + Guacamole + a RAW COWBOY! Huh? um…*

Mexican Salsa Recipes—Easy Healthy Recipes—Raw Food Weight Loss—Corn Salsa Recipe—Raw Food Diet Menu—Tomato Recipes—

? Raw Mexican Night! *
100% Raw Vegan ‘Chips’,
Homemade Salsa Recipe
& Guacamole! ?

* I n g r e d i e n t s *
For the SALSA & GUACAMOLE:
— 4 cloves of Garlic, peeled
— 1 Purple Onion, roughly chopped
— 4 Tomatoes, roughly chopped
— 1 bunch of Cilantro, roughly torn by hand into smaller pieces, but still include the stems
— 1 Lime
— 2 Avocados
— 2 cobs of Corn, raw (optional)

For the ‘CHIPS’:
— 1-2 Green Zucchinis / Courgettes
— 1-2 Yellow Zucchinis / Courgettes

* P r e p a r a t i o n *
— 1) To make the salsa, toss the garlic cloves, onion, tomatoes and cilantro into your food processor.

— 2) Use a manual citrus juicer or a citrus hand juicer to squeeze the juice of the lime into the food processor as well, and then roughly blend until the desired consistency for your salsa is reached.

— 3) Scoop out 50-75% of the salsa that you just made and place into a serving bowl. The remaining salsa in your food processor will now serve as the base for your guacamole.

— 4) Add the avocados to the salsa left in your food processor, blend until the desired consistency for your guacamole is reached, and then transfer to a serving bowl.

— 5) Slice the corn off of the cobs, and add to the salsa and/or guacamole, if desired.

— 6) To make the “chips,” slice the zucchinis / courgettes into rounds thick enough to remain sturdy enough to serve as dipping chips, and arrange them on a serving platter.

— 7) Finally…time to sit down and eat!! Please enjoy your meal and eat it with love!

* I n s p i r a t i o n *
— If you are craving something like a Corona to go with your mexican meal, how about reaching for an ice cold carrot juice with a twist of lime instead?

— Just get high on health! The high on health is consistent, and tends to get better and better. Plus, you don’t come down from it. Believe me, I have tried all the other highs and this is the BEST way to get high! It just keeps on getting better and better.

— If you want others to join you on your high health kick, please make sure to not push anything on them…instead, focus on BEING A LIVING EXAMPLE of true health, and then watch them come to you for advice! e.g., if you lose 40 pounds in 2 months, people ARE going to notice! Just silently set an example, and always remain humble. :D

100% Raw VEGAN?

December 17, 2009 - 6:38 pm 3 Comments

i am going to the dietitian tomorrow. i am currently vegetarian but would like to go 100% raw vegan.

i was 100% raw vegan for 20 days just recently.

im either complusive binge eating and if im not binging im starving myself. its all or nothing. i also get flatulence because of this cycle of eating. i need to stop abusing my body! time to detox!

going raw vegan would be really good for me because i would still be able to eat alot!

is there anything i should know on the topic??
clearly i have psychological problems if im binge eating and starving myself!!!
i am getting help… but things take time.

There are some foods that are actually poisonous when eaten raw, like some beans. Make sure you know what you’re doing.

It is not "time to detox", it is time to get healthy. If this raw vegan diet is just another form of starvation and/or losing weight, then you should not do it. The cycle you’re describing goes beyond the scope of just nutritional advice. I hope that you are getting help to control your habits, and I hope that you get well. Also remember that nothing said on a message board has any value compared to the advice of your doctors. Listen to them, they have your best interests in mind and are not pushing an agenda.

Good luck.
